The other day I was talking to a friend when they told me everything they had to do.
She was going on and on about how busy she was and the never-ending to-do list.
I felt for her because it was creating so much suffering.
She was acting like she had no choice.
Do you ever do that?
Do you ever feel like your life is a list of everything you have to do?
It's a trap.
You don't have to do anything. EVERYTHING, and yes, I mean everything, is a choice.
I can hear you arguing with me –
but Brittny, I HAVE to pay taxes, I HAVE to drive slowly...
yes...if you don't do certain things, there might be a consequence, but that doesn't mean you don't have a choice
Because you do, you always have a choice.
You do not have to live out the "wrong" decision of your past. Instead, you have the power to make a new decision, a conscious decision for the future.
You can completely change your life by changing the daily decision that affects how you live.
So let's start right now:
Start by making conscious decisions today.
The more you practice intentional decision-making, the better.
Decision-making takes a lot of energy, so you don't want to delay. You want to make them quickly and consciously.
Build your decision-making muscle by starting small.
Give yourself 30 seconds to decide what you'll have for dinner, what movie to watch, how you take care of yourself, how you talk to yourself, and how you show up for your life and pursue your desires.
Follow through on that decision. Repeat.
All these decisions add up and create results in your life.
Then work up to bigger things. Making small decisions timely will help train your brain to think through questions more quickly.
